Hi, my name is Chiara. I decided to go to Bristol International College because I wanted to learn English sufficiently in a calm environment. This school location is very convenient: it is just in front of the Canada Line Waterfront Station. I could get to school very easily. I was able to study comfortably because the school building was new and organized. The memory that left a large impression on me was our teacher who was such a very thoughtful teacher. When I wanted to learn topics that were not in the weekly syllabus, she would adopt them into the curriculum. I was able to understand any uncertain English phrases well. I had to do homework every day and the class was very substantial every single block,
too. There was a lot of time to speak English in the class, and I felt like my speaking abilities lengthened noticeably. Also there was enough time to learn grammar, and to focus
on reading and listening skills. I was able to learn all a full range of English skills here at Bristol International College.
Hi, my name is Medhi. I recently came to Canada from Iran to find new job and education opportunities here. I was looking for a job, but I discovered that I need more English speaking skills. So I found this ESL school where I could improve my English language abilities. My teacher was knowledgable and taught the subject in a completely well-organised manner. She helped me boost my confidence in conversational pronunciation, and increased my understanding of new vocabulary items and Canadian idioms. I appreciated her passion. She motivated me to have more conversations with other people in the class and now in the outside world. This school environment was very calm and convenient because they try to organise classes in low number of students.I strongly recommend this collage to all of my friends because of their excellent Canadian teachers, their very nice and attentive staff, and their usage of good textbooks in class. I would encourage everyone to register in various courses here.
Hi, my name is Maria. I’m a teacher in
Spain. I came to Vancouver to study
English during school vacation. This ESL
program was so interesting. I learned
authentic English, such as different
kinds of vocabulary, grammar, idioms,
and so on. My teacher was very kind
and helpful. I am a teacher in my own
country so I am really interested in how teachers teach. She organized a class well, used many activities and made us study a lot while having fun. When I didn't understand something, she explained it in detail on the white board helping me understand my weakness. I am only staying in Vancouver for 2 months so I don’t have enough time to study as much as I want, but I really studied
more at this college. I was so glad to
take this ESL program with classmates
who came from a variety of countries.
Now, I feel I have more confidence
speaking English in front of people.
Hi, my name is Yumi. I went to
Bristol International College to
study English for 3 weeks while on
my summer vacation from my
university in Japan. Before I started
classes, I was very worried because
I was not good at speaking English.
In fact, our teacher and classmates
were so friendly, that I didn’t feel
any anxiety at all. Each student was able to get enough attention from the teacher and she spent time working with every single student in the class. As a result, I was always able to ask the teacher any questions without hesitation. I could not speak English in complete sentences, so I always spoke using simple sentences. However, the teacher understood what I wanted to say each time and she always made me try and speak in complete sentences. I could feel that my speaking abilities improved a lot within a very short period of time. Sometimes, I hung out with teachers and classmates on the weekends because the school had a welcoming atmosphere and the teachers, classmates and all staff
were very friendly. Not only did I study English at
BIC, but I also experienced Canadian
culture and made strong friendships with
students from many other countries.
Hi, I am Shooz. I am from Iran and I recently immigrated here to Canada. I decided to try this school in order to make more friends and brush up on my English skills. This school was really comfortable and all my classmates were motivated, so I could focus on my studies. Our teacher was respectful during the class, especially when I didn't know some words in English. She would kindly try to explain these problems by drawing pictures on the white board even after class had finished and during break time. In the class, I had a lot of positive opportunities to share my opinions, and
I communicated with my
classmates a lot. I think
my teacher was the best I
have ever met. Bristol
International College is the
place which has the most
suitable environment to
study in. I strongly
recommend my friends to
Hi, I am Nicola. I came to Canada for 3 months on my summer vacation from my University in the Czech Republic. This school offers small classes and has a homely atmosphere. Everyone is friendly so I made friends from different nationalities and ages quickly. I often hung out with classmates after school, and we had so much fun. I learned about other cultures this way. I was so excited to go to school because I could learn new words and idioms every single day. I realized after a short time that I had improved my English abilities. Because of the low student-to-teacher ratio, the relationship between student and teacher was close and the teacher corrected my grammar and pronunciation mistakes every time. Another thing I liked about this school was that I could take the class from only one block, so I took only morning classes and I enjoyed sightseeing in the afternoons. I was really glad that I chose this school.
I came to Canada on a working Holiday visa. First time, I went to another ESL school for four months. However, I realized I couldn't improve my English abilities, because the class has many students at the school. So that I decided to take the class at Bristol International College which is small number students. At the first time, I was so shy and I couldn’t speak very much in the class. However, the teacher was always willing to lend a sympathetic ear and classmates were so friendly and became very good friends. Sooner, I started not to hesitate to speak in the class. At the end, I actively spoke up the most in the class.
Also, the staff always took care of me and talked to me every day. That was good for practice to speak English! The school atmosphere was like a family. Even though I was so shy, I felt so cozy and could focus on studying. Because I had confidence about my English abilities more, I would like to have an experience to work in Canada.
I was so happy to go to this school. I strongly recommend this school, especially, for someone who want to concentrate on their studies, someone who get more deep care and someone who are shy.
